Death came knocking,
I didn’t open the door.
They took her while we’re floored.
She’ve lived a happy life.
3 gorgeous daughters,
3 grandkids and of course,
a loving husband whom you love.
You gave me my best friend,
you made her who she is now,
then you married her to her choice of a man,
and now you left; without taking a bow.
It’s almost like you knew.
It’s like your job here is done.
It’s like you’ve had enough.
And now you just no longer want to see the sun.
We bid you farewell now,
with such heavy hearts,
never wanting to see you go,
but acceptance now is like a form of art.
This is for my best friend’s mom who passed away this morning, after losing her battle with lung cancer. My prayers are with you, Siswanty.
