It’s been slightly over two weeks since I’ve called Jakarta home.
Moving on my own here after being transferred for work is different. I guess it’s the same feeling anyone goes through when they move to a new country. The good thing is that I chose an apartment about 5 minutes away from the office. Sometimes, the driver picks me up and at other times, I’ll call the cab.
The first week at work was hard. I pushed through 15-16 hours per day to learn about my new client and to try set a process for the team. I remember it was on a Wednesday which I left at 6.30pm to go buy stuff for my new apartment. I was sleeping on the bedsheet which the apartment came in. The same one which I saw when I was viewing it. That’s how pathetic I was.
Second week, I was doing much better although still pushing through the 12-14 hours per day.
Thankfully, I am the kind of person who is comfortable on my own or with friends. Even when I’m alone over the weekends, I’m still happy. At this point, I’m just going to ride it on and figure things out slowly.
After all, life is what you make it out to be, right?
